Zero Trust and MSPs: Like Oil and Water, or Like Peanut Butter and Chocolate?

Jason Garbis
Founder & CEO, Numberline Security

Zero Trust has become the standard best practices approach for enterprise information security, with broad adoption across both public and private sector organizations. However, given MSPs uniquely close-but-external operational, architectural, and working relationships with their customers, we must ask ourselves whether and how Zero Trust applies to this world.

In this session, we explore Zero Trust’s history and principles, examining how it can be most effectively applied by MSPs for customer environments. We’ll introduce several models for how MSPs can leverage Zero Trust principles to improve security outcomes, drive increased revenue, or both. And we’ll walk through a blueprint for a successful Zero Trust initiative, encompassing organizational readiness, maturity assessment, program definition, and roadmap planning. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to create a Zero Trust program tailored to their business and customer profiles, and with renewed enthusiasm to get started.

Reframing Security in the Age of LLMs and Agentic AI

Sounil Yu
Author and creator of the Cyber Defense Matrix and the DIE Triad

The rapid pace of technological change makes it difficult to predict the future of AI. However, there are several mental models that we can use for ourselves and our clients to see the shadow of what’s to come. They give us clear thinking through patterns that clearly point to new opportunities and new threats. This talk uses several of these models in combination to help us understand the present and the potential futures in AI to systematically plan for what’s next in security.

Sounil Yu is the author and creator of the Cyber Defense Matrix and the DIE Triad. He is currently the cofounder of Knostic. Previously, he was Bank of America’s Chief Security Scientist and the CISO at JupiterOne. He is a FAIR Institute Board Member and a GMU National Security Institute fellow.

Building a High-Impact vCISO Program That Wins Clients: ADD-ON SESSION - Lunch Included ($199)

Brian Blakley
Information Security & Compliance Strategist | Fractional CISO/DPO | Founder with Multiple Successful Exits

The vCISO model is no longer a “nice-to-have” for MSPs — it’s a critical growth engine and competitive differentiator. Clients are demanding more than patching and endpoint protection; they want leadership that connects business outcomes versus compliance outcomes.

In this 3-hour interactive workshop, Brian Blakely — Chief Risk Officer at Compliance Scorecard — will walk you through the frameworks, processes, and tools that transform a technical security service into a boardroom-ready advisory practice. You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify the right clients for vCISO engagement
  • Build service tiers that align with different maturity levels and regulations
  • Deliver measurable business value that earns renewals and upsells
  • Integrate compliance, governance, and risk frameworks into your service model
  • Use executive language and reporting to earn trust

This is hands-on, role-play, and scenario-based learning designed to give you a working blueprint you can apply immediately.
